Ceiling cassette serviced at GoLocalise studio, Stockwell
Real Work

A real job: GoLocalise & SIPP, Stockwell

A localisation studio and its coffee shop needed four complete systems serviced — three Daikin ceiling cassettes and a Midea wall unit — without losing a recording session or an hour of café trade. The work was carried out on a Saturday morning with equipment sheeted over. No defects found, a written condition report issued per system, and an annual maintenance agreement now in place.

checklistEvery Visit

What Each Service Visit Covers

Per complete system, every time — not a quick filter wipe and an invoice.

filter_alt

Filters

Cleaned or replaced as needed. Blocked filters are the single biggest cause of poor performance and high running costs.

ac_unit

Indoor Coil

Inspected and cleaned properly, which restores heat transfer and clears the musty smell people put up with for years.

mode_fan

Outdoor Condenser

Coil cleaned, fan and casing checked. A clogged condenser makes the whole system work harder for less output.

water_drop

Condensate

Tray, drain and pump checked and cleared — the usual cause of water dripping from a ceiling cassette onto your floor.

bolt

Electrical & Controls

Connections, isolators and controls checked, plus fan motors and bearings inspected for wear.

thermostat

Performance Test

Airflow and operating temperatures measured, then a full performance test in both cooling and heating.

You get a written condition report with photographs for each system — what was checked, what was found, and anything that needs attention. It goes straight into your compliance file. RAMS available on request.

New Customer Introduction

First Visit: £99 First System, £75 Each Additional

If you are a local business I have not worked with before, your first planned maintenance visit is £99 for the first standard single-split system and £75 for each additional system on the same visit, with no VAT. A four-system site is £324 instead of £390.

This is a genuine introduction rather than a permanent rate — subsequent visits are at standard prices (£120 first system, £90 each additional), or on a twice-yearly agreement at £195 per system per year. It applies to accessible standard single-split systems within my normal working area and hours. Repairs, parts, specialist deep cleaning, access equipment, complex multi-split or VRF systems and any statutory checks are surveyed and quoted separately. I will confirm the scope from photographs or a short survey before accepting the booking.

paymentsPricing

Servicing & Maintenance Prices

We price per complete system, not per unit. A complete system means one indoor unit plus its matched outdoor unit. Most companies quote “per unit” and then argue about what counts once they are on site — a four-system office with eight boxes on the wall suddenly costs double. We tell you the definition up front, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay.

What the price covers — and what it does not

Included per system: filters cleaned (replacement filters charged separately where a unit needs them), indoor and outdoor coils cleaned, condensate tray, drain and pump checked and cleared, electrical connections, isolators and controls checked, fan motors and bearings inspected, airflow and operating temperatures measured, full performance test in cooling and heating, and a written condition report with photographs.

The published rate is per standard single-split system — one indoor unit and its matched outdoor unit, at accessible height.

Single-split system compared with a multi-split system A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split has one outdoor unit connected to several indoor units. How a system is counted for pricing. A single-split is one indoor unit and its matched outdoor unit. A multi-split runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit on a shared circuit, so it is surveyed and quoted separately.
Text description of this diagram

On the left, a single-split system: one indoor unit joined by refrigerant pipework to one outdoor unit. That counts as one complete system and is charged at the published rate — £120 for the first system and £90 for each additional system on the same visit, with no VAT. On the right, a multi-split system: one outdoor unit serving three indoor units through a shared refrigerant circuit. Because the circuit is shared and the service scope differs, multi-split and VRF systems are surveyed and quoted separately rather than counted as several single-splits.

Quoted separately: multi-split and VRF/VRV systems, difficult or high-level access and any access equipment, specialist deep cleaning, replacement parts and repairs, refrigerant work, and any statutory leak checking or TM44 inspection that applies to your systems. I will tell you before the visit if I expect any of these to apply.

scheduleOut of Hours

I Work Around Your Trading, Not Through It

Weekend, evening and early-morning visits at no extra cost. If you run a café, a restaurant, a shop or a studio, you already know what it costs to have an engineer in the middle of your busiest hours — and most national providers charge a premium for anything outside nine to five.

A recent commercial customer chose Smith EcoFlow over a larger competitor for exactly this reason: a Saturday 8am start meant their sessions and their café trade ran completely undisturbed.

gavelYour Legal Duties

The Bits Most Companies Don't Mention

Running air conditioning in a commercial building carries legal duties that are easy to miss until someone asks for the paperwork.

Leak checking. Systems holding 5 tonnes CO₂e or more of refrigerant carry a legal duty to be leak checked at set intervals, with records kept. I will tell you plainly whether your systems fall into that bracket.

TM44 inspections. Where combined cooling output exceeds 12kW — which is often just three or four standard units — a TM44 air conditioning inspection is required by law, no more than five years apart. Fines start at £300.

To be completely clear: I identify whether a TM44 inspection is due on your premises and refer you to an accredited energy assessor. Smith EcoFlow does not carry out TM44 inspections. I would rather tell you the rule and point you to the right person than pretend it is something I can sign off.

One indoor unit plus its matched outdoor unit. Many companies quote per unit and then disagree once on site about what counts, which quietly doubles the bill. I state the definition up front so the price quoted is the price paid.

Once a year as a minimum. Twice a year for systems in heavy use, or in kitchens, gyms and server rooms where they work hard and get dirty quickly.
