A little information up front means I arrive with the right kit and the visit runs properly.
Access to both units
I need to get to the indoor unit and the outdoor condenser. Wall units at normal height are straightforward; ceiling cassettes need the tiles clear beneath them, and roof or high-level outdoor units need safe access arranged. Mention it when you book and I will bring the right kit.
Make, model and how many
Helpful but not essential. If you have the manual or can photograph the label on the indoor unit, it saves time. If not, I will identify it on site.
What it has been doing
Weak cooling, a musty smell, water dripping, unusual noise, or a fault code on the controller. Anything you have noticed narrows the diagnosis before I arrive.
When it was last serviced
If nobody knows, assume never — and expect the first service to take a little longer because the filters and coils will be carrying years of dust.
Somewhere to work
A cleared area beneath the indoor unit and access to a socket. Coil cleaning produces some water, so I sheet up and clear away afterwards.
Power and isolation
I need to isolate the unit safely to work on the electrics and controls. If the isolator is locked, behind a cupboard or not obvious, point me to it when I arrive.
